I am Dr Eriko Yamashita and I have been working in general practice since 2017. I worked in Toowoomba for 5 years before relocating back to Brisbane, where I originally grew up. I obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy from UQ in 2009, then my Doctor of Medicine from Griffith University in 2014. I hold a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Medicine (Skin cancer). I also work for RACGP (The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners) where I complete external clinical teaching visits with general practice registrars and enjoy this educational aspect of medicine.

Whilst I am interested in all aspects of general practice, I particularly enjoy women’s health (including gynaecology, antenatal care, menopause, contraception), paediatrics, adolescent health, and dermatology. Procedurally, I enjoy doing Implanons, iron infusions and skin excisions.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going for walks, keeping active, and visiting the local cafe’s.
