Dr Anna Coghlan

DCH, FRACGP, MBBS (Hons), BSc (Hons)

I’m Dr Anna Coghlan and I’ve recently moved back home to Brisbane where I grew up, after a couple of years working away in Canberra and the North Island of Aoteoroa New Zealand. I’m enjoying being settled and looking forward to getting to know the Generations Medical community.

I graduated with honours from University of Queensland in 2015. I then spent four years between the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Queensland Children’s Hospital and the Royal Brisbane Neonatal Intensive Care Unit gaining experience in paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, stroke, geriatrics, general medicine and emergency medicine.

I started my career as a GP in 2021 and I obtained my fellowship with RACGP in 2023. My husband’s work took me to chilly Canberra and then to New Zealand where I upskilled in reproductive health while working for Family Planning. I also have a Diploma in Child Health.

I enjoy all aspects of general practice but have a keen passion for women’s health, sexual health, paediatrics, fertility concerns and antenatal care. I enjoy procedures and can offer minor skin surgery, iron infusions, Implanon and Mirena insertions.

When not working, you’ll find my head in a book or chasing after my border collie Betty.
