Hello! I’m Dr Pamela Douglas. I’m delighted to be offering specialised F2F services in two areas at Generations Medical.
1. As a highly experienced Breastfeeding Medicine Physician, I’m helping breastfeeding and lactating women and their families with the whole range of challenges they might
face.

This includes
a. Antenatal preparation for breastfeeding
b. Ankyloglossia
c. Induced lactation and re-lactation
d. The most complex kinds of breastfeeding and lactation problems.
2. I’m also available to help families with a baby in the first six months of life
(breastfeeding or not) who cries and fusses a lot. I also have special clinical and
research expertise concerning the diagnoses of
a. Allergy
b. Reflux
c. Lactose problems, and
d. Gut dysbiosis or wind pain in unsettled babies.

You don’t need a referral to see me, and I’m also happy to take referrals from doctors and other health professionals seeking high-level assistance for their breastfeeding patients or patients with a crying baby.

Unfortunately I’m not available to see families who are specifically facing baby or toddler sleep problems. I run online education sessions for parents who have subscribed to this program twice each week. I’ve developed the programs known as Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC or the Possums programs) over the past 20 years, and have published about 30 research publications laying down their evidence-base in the international research literature. I’m also author of The discontented little baby book. I have upskilled many hundreds of doctors and other health professionals to become NDC Accredited Practitioners, currently through The NDC Institute ndcinstitute.com.au. I’m also teaching the NDC Lactation Fellowship, upskilling doctors to become Breastfeeding Medicine Physicians.

I’ve practiced as a GP since 1987, and also as a Breastfeeding Medicine Physician and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 1994. I’m an Associate Professor Adjunct with The School of Nursing and Midwifery at Griffith University, and a Senior Lecturer with the General Practice Clinical Unit, The University of Queensland. In 2013 I founded the charity Possums for Mothers and Babies which closed in August 2023, and am
delighted that Dr Stephen Loo and his staff are opening another Possums Clinic with NDC Accredited Practitioners here at Generations Medical.
Dr Pamela Douglas is able to offer TELEHEALTH consultations breastfeeding and lactation, infant sleep, and cry-fuss problems (including reflux, allergy, lactose concerns, gut dysbiosis, wind pain, tongue-tie and lip-tie concerns) to;

 Any Australian registered health professional who is in the NDC Accreditation
pathway or who is already NDC Accredited
 Any Australian medical practitioner.
