I’m Dr Tara Hillister and I look forward to getting to know you and your family as your GP. I have lived locally since 2002, studying both my Bachelor of Science and Medicine degrees at UQ.

My background includes work as a medical scientist in chemical pathology before studying medicine. Since graduating in 2014, I’ve worked at the Mater Hospital and Queensland Children’s Hospital, and my experience includes paediatrics, obstetrics, emergency medicine, urology and ENT. I have also worked at Griffith University as a medical educator, teaching the next generation of medical students.

I have worked as a GP since 2018, and enjoy getting to know my patients to gain a good understanding of their health and priorities. This enables us to work together towards achieving the best outcomes.

I particularly enjoy working with adolescents, people with chronic disease and working through women’s health problems including contraceptive counselling. I can offer iron infusions, minor skin procedures and Implanon insertions.
